Just got spn on DVD and couldn’t resist giffing these frankly beautiful shots of Dean from the deleted scenes in the pilot.
Look at that lighting, it’s fucking gorgeous.

The vampire diaries used to be about Stefan. It was Stefan’s story. The first line of the pilot tells us so “I’m a vampire and this is my story” But is it really still his story?
Yes, the original vampire diaries was Stefan’s story, the curse of his pure heart and his journey through his vampirism but they destroyed that. Stefan isn’t considered the main character of TVD anymore; a lot of people say that.
Ian is considered the ‘main male character’ and so that makes it Damon’s story now and not Stefan’s. The main problem I believe is that Ian is at every single convention and always is the one talking the most. They made him into the main male character and he’s not. Or, at least he’s not supposed to be!It’s just such a shame that the whole ‘core’ of the show has been ruined mostly by Julie Plec. I know I said before that we don’t get to be so hard on her because we don’t know what it’s like to write for a TV show but I take that back. No, maybe we don’t know what it’s like but I have read better FanFiction/ theories on tumblr than the writing for this show!
It’s just extremely frustrating and heart wrenching to know that they cater to the loudest fans so much that they actually lose their focus on the actual story and with that comes another loss of ‘core’ viewers.
There are people I know (and I use that term loosely because I only ‘know’ them on tumblr) who believe they took Delena further than intended because of Nian and I’m inclined to believe them. Networks get free publicity and press from real life couples and they’ll take any chance they can get to cash in on that and that’s just really sad. Because, I believe at the end of the day you should stay true to the story you intended to tell and not let other people dictate the course of the show. Unfortunately that’s just how it works in the entertainment industry in America I guess.
Things like this remind me that I’m actually glad that I’m not an American citizen and that I live in a country where none of this is an issue. My country’s just too small for shenanigans like that, thank god!
